Classical training.
Patient-centered care.
Eui Young (Justin) Chung L.Ac. Dipl. O.M. (NCCAOM) is a California State Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist and the founder of Raah Acupuncture Inc. in Koreatown, Los Angeles. He holds a Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Dongguk University Los Angeles — one of the leading accredited East Asian medicine programs in the United States.
Justin's clinical training included herbology studies at Naju College in South Korea and an internship at the USC Student Health Center with a focus on pain management. His undergraduate degree is in English Linguistics from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul, Korea — a foundation that informs his ability to bridge Eastern medical frameworks with Western patients and clinical settings.
As an herbalist, Justin formulates custom herbal decoctions precisely tailored to each individual patient. Because all teas are made to order, preparation requires approximately two days following a thorough consultation — ensuring that every formula is specific to the patient's current pattern rather than a generalized protocol.
Justin is a MedRisk network provider and has extensive experience treating personal injury and workers' compensation cases, providing full medico-legal documentation including SOAP notes, evaluation reports with ICD-10 and CPT codes, and final narrative reports.

Treatment methods
Justin draws from five classical acupuncture systems, selecting the most appropriate approach based on each patient's individual presentation — never a one-size-fits-all protocol.
Saam Acupuncture
Justin's primary specialty. A classical 17th-century Korean system developed by a Buddhist monk that treats the root cause of disease using precise, minimal needle selection — typically 4 to 8 points on the hands and feet. Also known as the four needles technique.
Master Tung's Acupuncture
A classical Chinese system known for rapid, powerful pain relief using distal points away from the area of complaint. Particularly effective for acute musculoskeletal pain and personal injury cases.
Balance Method
A mirror-imaging system developed by Dr. Richard Tan that treats pain through contralateral and distal points — without needling the area of complaint directly.
Traditional Chinese Medicine
The foundational system of East Asian medicine including channel theory, organ system diagnosis, herbal medicine, tuina, and cupping — the diagnostic framework underlying all of Justin's clinical work.
Ear Acupuncture
Auricular therapy targeting reflex points on the ear for pain, stress, anxiety, addiction support, and systemic regulation. Often used as a complement to body acupuncture treatment.
The Raah approach
"In our modern world, the focus on the patient is often overlooked and undervalued. My aim is to restore quality care and patient satisfaction by spending the necessary time — creating the space and allowing the process that supports health and vitality."
Every patient at Raah Acupuncture receives a thorough initial consultation before treatment begins. Justin reviews not only the presenting complaint but the full health picture — digestion, sleep, energy, emotional state, and history — because in classical East Asian medicine, these are not separate concerns. They are all expressions of the same underlying pattern.
After the initial assessment, treatment typically combines acupuncture, tuina, and cupping as indicated. Custom herbal decoctions are recommended when herbs would meaningfully support the treatment plan. The goal in every case is lasting resolution — not temporary relief.
