California workers' comp covers acupuncture
If you were injured on the job, you have the right to medical treatment — including acupuncture — at no cost to you. Once your claim is open and your treatment is authorized by the insurance carrier, you can begin care at Raah Acupuncture immediately.
We use Saam Acupuncture — a classical Korean system that is highly effective for the musculoskeletal injuries most common in workplace settings. We treat the underlying cause of pain, not just the site of injury.

How it works
Open your claim
Report your injury to your employer and open a workers' compensation claim with their insurance carrier if you haven't already.
Get authorization
Your claims adjuster or case manager authorizes acupuncture treatment. If your carrier uses MedRisk, authorization can be processed directly through their system.
Schedule your first visit
Call or contact us with your claim number and authorization. We aim to schedule newly authorized patients within the week.
Begin treatment
We handle all billing directly with the carrier. You pay nothing out of pocket for authorized treatment.
Efficient, documented care for your claimants
Raah Acupuncture understands the demands of workers' compensation case management. We provide timely documentation, clear communication, and acupuncture treatment that supports your claimant's recovery and your file management goals.
As a MedRisk network provider, we can be authorized directly through the MedRisk system — streamlining referral and billing for carriers already using that network.

Why acupuncture for work injuries? Acupuncture is recognized within California's Medical Treatment Utilization Schedule (MTUS) as an evidence-based option for musculoskeletal pain — particularly for back, neck, and soft tissue conditions common in workers' compensation. It is a low-risk, non-opioid treatment that can reduce recovery timelines and decrease reliance on pain medication.
